The Court of Appeal has today increased the compensation awards of former residents of the Bryn Alyn Community who won claims for compensation in June 2001
Former residents of the Bryn Alyn Community in North Wales who were subjected to sexual, physical and emotional abuse during their childhood won their claims for compensation against Bryn Alyn in June 2001. The High Court awarded compensation to the Claimants. Today the Court of Appeal increased those awards.
The Bryn Alyn Community in North Wales was a private child care organisation which was started by John Allen. Over the years residents of the home were sexually, physically and emotionally abused by John Allen and other members of staff employed by Bryn Alyn. In June 2001 the High Court held Bryn Alyn liable for that abuse.
The Claimants were represented by Uppal Taylor Solicitors.
